1 Kings 4:29 NIV*
“God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.”
We read in 1 Kings 3 that God told Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted, and he would have it. Solomon asked for wisdom. God promised to give Solomon wisdom, “wealth and honor” (v. 13 NIV)*. God also said, “‘...And if you walk in my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.’” (v. 14 NIV)*. 1 Kings 4:29 is one of the Scriptures that shows that God kept His promise to Solomon.
One thing to keep in mind is that Solomon was by no means perfect. He made his own share of mistakes. However, God still kept His promise. That is just Who God is. God is a faithful God, and will ALWAYS keep His promises. We can see evidence of this with Abraham. His story is recorded in the book of Genesis. I encourage you to read it if you do not know the story.
I also encourage you to trust that God will keep His promises. If He were to ever break one promise, He would not be God.
Dear God,
I pray that You help me to trust You. Help me to stand on Your promises, and keep my faith strong.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.
